Saudewala.in is an Indian e-commerce platform focused on making high-performance technology more affordable through professionally refurbished electronics. The store offers laptops, workstations, servers, storage devices, graphics cards, smartphones, accessories, and other computing hardware from major technology brands.

The project involved building and improving the digital storefront to make a large and diverse product catalogue easier to discover, evaluate, and purchase while maintaining a fast and straightforward shopping experience.

The Challenge

Selling refurbished electronics online presents a different set of challenges from conventional e-commerce.

Customers need to quickly understand what they are purchasing, compare specifications, evaluate pricing, understand warranty coverage, and feel confident about the condition and reliability of refurbished hardware.

At the same time, Saudewala manages a broad catalogue ranging from consumer laptops to enterprise hardware. The storefront therefore needed to support different product categories, specifications, availability states, pricing, collections, and purchasing flows without making the experience overwhelming.

What We Built

We worked on the Shopify storefront and developed customized e-commerce experiences around Saudewala's catalogue and business requirements.

The work included storefront development, product and collection experiences, responsive interfaces, product information presentation, navigation, and custom Shopify functionality.

The storefront was designed to make it easier for customers to browse products across categories, understand individual product specifications, and move from product discovery to checkout with minimal friction.

Product Experience

A major focus of the project was the product experience.

Refurbished electronics can have significantly more technical information than typical consumer products, so product pages needed to communicate specifications, pricing, warranty information, availability, and purchasing options clearly.

The interface was structured to keep this information accessible without overwhelming the customer, while maintaining a consistent experience across different types of products.

E-commerce Experience

The platform supports a substantial catalogue spanning laptops, servers, workstations, storage, graphics hardware, smartphones, and accessories.

We worked on creating reusable storefront components and layouts that could support this variety while remaining responsive across desktop and mobile devices.

The experience was also designed around Saudewala's broader value proposition: providing affordable refurbished technology while establishing customer confidence around product quality and post-purchase support.

Engineering Approach

The storefront was developed on Shopify using Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with customizations made around the requirements of the existing Shopify ecosystem.

Rather than treating every page as an independent implementation, reusable sections and components were used wherever possible so that the storefront could continue evolving as products, collections, campaigns, and business requirements changed.

Performance, responsive behavior, maintainability, and compatibility with Shopify's commerce functionality were considered throughout development.

My Role

I worked on the development and customization of Saudewala's Shopify storefront, translating business and design requirements into production e-commerce experiences.

My work involved Shopify theme development, Liquid customization, frontend development, responsive interfaces, product experiences, debugging, and improvements across different parts of the storefront.

The project required working within an active e-commerce environment where changes needed to integrate cleanly with existing products, collections, Shopify functionality, and business operations.
